KOHI is currently licensed to broadcast with 1000 watts daytime and 12 watts nighttime. We have a pre-sunrise authority to sign on at 6AM each morning with 500 watts. We are currently working on our ground system to reach the purple circle areas with a stronger signal!
Our primary coverage area is Columbia County and parts of western Cowlitz County.
Cities we serve: St. Helens, Scappoose, Kalama, Woodland, LaCenter, Salmon Creek.
You can help us increase our power by writing a letter and telling us why it would be great if you could hear KOHI in areas of Columbia County we can’t yet reach! Email or send you letters today if you live in Clatskanie, Vernonia, Rainier or anywhere you can’t hear our signal! The goal is to expand the red signal area to the larger red signal area. This may be possible by increasing our power to 5000 watts and adding an additional tower to create a directional signal which will protect other stations operating on or next to our frequency of 1600kc
The FCC licensing process is long and expensive. But any help you can give us will be greatly appreciated! Our goal is to put a listenable signal into every corner of Columbia County!
Thanks!
